Glory to God, our help in ages past. Yes to God be the glory for making it possible for us to achieve once again, our desire to communicate with you our readers the great things he has done and continues to do.
Since the last publication, we have experienced so many ups and downs that have made it impossible for us to publish the due edition which became over due, but we kept faith all the way. It became a regular for us to respond this way when people ask us of the new edition of the Beacon.
“Oh we are taking a rest to perfect our distribution network and logistics”.
Actually that was the case, but after two years of rest we became unsure of what perfection we were doing, as it became more difficult, even with our schedule of work and the expansion programmes God was doing in our business life. Our ventures became very strongly established and more time consuming (by God’s grace we are making money). Our children who were very involved in the distribution became occupied with schooling and living their youth that they had less time to help with the distribution.
Within the third year we lost a great motivator and inspiration in the person of our father Pa Michael Oyebade Egunjobi, whose shoes were quite big to fit into. We had so much to do taking charge of his business and estate, that there was les than enough time for our own business. We say thank you to God for the persevering spirit He gave us and our wonderful clients who were quite understanding and supportive. We use this opportunity to thank families and friends and associates who encouraged us to carry on.
Our true faith in God was challenged so many times as we were faced with so many issues that required our decision, these decisions we made successfully have consulted our chairman and father God Almighty. So many times we prayed to Him and were surprised at all we could accomplish.
The end of the year 2009 crowned the experience and encounters that we had with the evil one who always wants to prove that we are not as faithful as we think. We were believing we were in God for a special petition on behalf of our family, and three months to the end of year, our family was faced with a big surprise from the evil one. It was even to disunite our family but Steve and I though shaken at beginning, resolved we had no other choice but to trust in the Lord our help in ages past. So we did saying a lot of novenas and booking of many masses. Even attending crusades orgainsed by the church at the end of the year. The last week of Advent the problem was solved and our family had a great reunion.
On the 31st of December 2009 one of our special requests was granted. A phone call came in to interrupt our prayer, (this was our last day of a three day fast which we normally take at the end of every year) it was to inform us of the approval for our request. This was a big surprise as we had almost lost hope of having that approval in the year 2009. God remains faithful to those who hold on in their faith.
The bible verse which says “your faith has healed you” is still true till date. I believe the problem we had in the last quarter of the year was to prove to God that we can only be faithful to him when things are good with us, but when real trouble comes we will seek help from anywhere else, but the devil failed and we became once again Winners in the Lord.
Our prayer for you the child of God is that your faith will not fail you in time of trouble. Amen. Please pray for us that God will make it possible for us to continue to bring the Beacon to your door step. Amen |
